MEET THE OWNERS
JOHN KELLEY
Exercising has been the foundation for nearly every other good habit John has developed in his life. John started working out consistently his freshman year of college. Not long after, he decided he’d eat better to support his efforts in the gym. He decided to start waking up earlier and trying to get more sleep. He realized he looked better, felt better and performed better in his day to day life. When John realized how much his life had improved simply from the decision to start working out consistently, it inspired him to help others to do the same.
John finished college with a degree in Kinesiology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Along the way, he completed internships at Velocity Sports Performance and Northeastern Sports Performance. Out of school he took a job as a Personal Trainer at a commercial gym in Boston. Over the next 4 years John has developed his training skills in the gym, and learned as much as he could outside of it. Once COVID hit, John began training independently and started his personal business, V2 Fitness. Once things started to open back up, John decided it was time to partner up and approached his former colleague Chris about starting a studio.
John is excited to continue training virtually and in-person at Studio 617, while striving to provide the best training experience possible for his clients!

Growing up, food was a big part of Chris' life, which meant many family dinners. Chris was always curious about what was cooking in the kitchen and you bet he was the first taste tester of a new dish! His love of food started at a young age and grew through the years into a crafted skill. Chris received his Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition along with an Associates in Culinary Arts. While his passion for food and cooking brought Chris to pursue these college degrees, cooking itself gave Chris a sense of both community and a sense of challenge.
After college, Chris found a sense of community in a different, but not so unrelated field, exercise. Having always been active, he found an enjoyment in more structured workouts after college when he moved back home to be with family. He soon moved to Boston to follow his passion of exercise, in a personal trainer setting.
Chris started his personal training career at Boston Sports Club (BSC), where he was given the tools and mentors he needed to transform into the trainer he is today; with a solid knowledge base to help individuals. Then COVID hit and his personal training career continued in an online format. This was a tough transition for Chris as he is very extroverted and loves meeting new people. However he loves being creative and enjoys problem solving which made this new journey exciting and interesting. After a year of working remotely with all of the support from his clients, he decided to partner up and open Studio 617!
